Instruments were used in this study were Defense Style Questionnaire- 40 for measing defense mechanisms and religious belief scale of Golzari. Data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation and independent T-test. Results showed a positive correlation between adaptive defense mechanisms and religious beliefs whiles there was a negative correlation between maladaptive defense mechanisms and religious beliefs.  There was a significant difference (P>0.05) between religious beliefs variables and adaptive defenses style, while there was not a significant difference in maladaptive defense style between two groups of girls and boys.
