In addition, other factors are involved such as hormones of the alimentary tract (appetite-stimulating ghrelin and appetite-decreasing cholecystokinin, peptide YY, glucagon like peptide-1, oxyntomodulin, pancreatic peptide, enterostatin and amylin). In this process participates also leptin, an appetite-suppressing hormone produced by adipocytes.
