A most privileged standpoint to understand in part the forms that violence management takes on in such areas. These forms are interwoven at the intersecting points between the modus operandi of law enforcement authorities, the typical market logic of illegal business activities, and the circumstances affecting local sociability. Our assumption is that this way of managing violence mobilizes mediations, codes, and protocols which cannot be said to be outside the law and the state, insofar as they emerge from tension fields related to the modus operandi of the police forces and are located at the heart of the micro-regulations of local illegal markets.http://journals.openedition.org/orda/1120debateFCCviolencedrug markets
