Summary:This piece of research focuses on the educational integration of immigrant children, and especially children from the Maghreb region, in schools in La Rioja. This descriptive study is exploratory; it analyses pupils’, parents’ and teachers’ perceptions of diversity and integration in the classroom. It also considers the reasons why immigrants choose a particular school, whether freely or not. Data was collected using semistructured group interviews and group discussions over the same time-period (the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 academic years).
