Description
Summary:The period between 1670 y 1725, with the stepping over to a new century and the change of dynasty on the Spanish throne, is known as the «tiempo de los novatores», but in space assigned to poetry it is possible talk about a stage of «formación del parnaso». The concept appears frequently in the title of the publications, and we can see in this notion a double value: as a selection and canonization of past models, but also as a wish of raising modern authors to this position, it is, the constitution of a contemporary «parnaso». In this undertaking the function of anthologies and editorial enterprise is essential and it has an important role in the adaptation of the old Baroque «parnaso» to the new esthetic and social performance of the poetry.
