Materials and methods. Zoning of the territory in terms of heat and moisture supply was carried out on the basis of methods for determining the coefficient of water balance, hydrothermal coefficient, relative humidity index, and humidity factor. Results and discussion. Agroclimatic zoning was carried out according to the main elements affecting the crop productivity: heat supply and moisture supply. As a result, the territory of Rostov region can be divided into four zones, according to moisture conditions, when calculating the humidity factor (HF) for soybeans: semi-dry at HF = 0.20...0.30, very dry at HF = 0.30...0.40, arid at HF = 0.40...0.50, semi-arid at HF = 0.50...0.60. According to the conditions of heat supply, the territory of Rostov region can be divided into five subzones with different sums of average daily temperatures: in the north of the region in subzone A, the sum of positive temperatures is 2800–3000 °С, with the advance to the south the sum of temperatures increases and in subzone Д reaches 3400–3600 °C. As a result of studies conducted on the irrigated lands of Rostov region, soybean varieties were studied during irrigation cultivation, their productivity, duration of the growing season and the sum of the temperature during the growing season were determined, and varieties for cultivation in certain subzones were recommended. Conclusions. As a result of the research, promising soybean varieties are grouped according to the duration of the growing season and are recommended for cultivation in the agroclimatic subzones of Rostov region, which helps agricultural producers to navigate and choose the most productive soybean varieties for local conditions. http://www.rosniipm-sm.ru/article?n=1138soybeansagroclimatic zoningvarietyheat supplymoisture supplygrowing seasonproductivityhumidity factor
