Therefore, the present study aimed to predict the psychosocial adjustment in patients with MS based on the components of coping strategies and religious orientation. Methods & Materials: The research method was descriptive and is one of the correlation studies. The statistical population is all of the patients with MS who referred to the associations in Tehran in the first quarter of 2016. A sample of 100 patients with MS (at least 19 years old and without psychiatric disorders) were selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected by Lazarus and Fulkman coping styles questionnaire, Dreguits psychological and social adjustment scale, and Allport religious orientation. To analyze the data, correlation coefficients and hierarchical multi-variable regression analysis were used. Results: The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between religious orientation and psychological compilation (p <0.01). Problem-oriented coping style was positive and emotional-focused coping style was negative (P <0.05) and it predicts susceptibility to disease in MS patients. Conclusion: According to the results, it can be concluded that religious orientation and coping strategies are related to adaptation in patients with MS.http://sjnmp.muk.ac.ir/browse.php?a_code=A-10-72-1&slc_lang=en&sid=1Coping styles Religious orientation MS disease Psychological compilation |
