Summary:The purpose of the study was to assess how visual impairment influenced the experiences of daily living of blind adults in a rural community in KwaZulu, Information was elicited through semi-structured interviews with 16 people (eight men and eight women) between the ages of 21 and 55 years who had been visually impaired from one to more than 20 years. Such visual impairment ranged from inability to perform some of the activities that require the use of eyesight to inability to see at all.
