Summary: | In this paper, we describe the many football fields of São Tomé and Príncipe. We do not seek to anthropomorphize soccer pitches, but try to look at these fields as historical documents and as texts related to the evolution of the country. Indeed, the evidence of political and social changes can be seen in the diversity of football fields. In its own way, these soccer fields are a source of historical and social knowledge, suggesting the development of a narrative that takes them to mark the political and social changes in the archipelago that have occurred since the colonialism period to the post-independence era. |
