Acknowledgement of legal professional privilege for company lawyers

Company lawyers are one of the most numerous legal professions in Croatia whose members are perceived as highly professional, often with very profound legal knowledge in many different fields of law. Wide legal knowledge that company lawyers frequently have is a result of a diversity of tasks they are confronted with throughout their professional life and great understanding of the business processes taking place in the companies they work for. This paper briefly deals with the main challenges which are placed before company lawyers in Croatia with the accent on diversity and complexity of their tasks, as well as with the issue of their intellectual independence.
