Description
Summary:This paper argues the value of reflection about the nature of science in teacher training and discusses the contribution of films as a didactic resource to promote such reflection. Thus, a training activity consisting of watching science research films is presented together with a subsequent guided interpretation of them. After its implementation with different groups of teachers and trainee teachers, the teacher knowledge that the activity implies is analyzed. Some metascientific reflective indicators that refer to science as human enterprise are defined in relation to society, history and culture.
