All turning machines induce hazards due to rotating cutting tools, transmission belts and pulleys, high tension, noise and compressed air. In order to prevent the adverse effects of noise on workers, care should be taken to select appropriate instruments, measurement methods and procedures for the assessment of workers' exposure.
