Summary:This paper aims to conduct a case study of the application of the Business Process Management (BPM) in a Public Institution of Higher Education in order to retain knowledge within the institution and to manage the system in a integrated way. The BPM was used to collect information on all levels of the organization to map and standardize flow, absorbing all kind of information. We present a case of successful implementation of in the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). A great contribution of the methodology was perceived for the institution and the possibility of application of this process in other sector of the University.
