Summary:Private security guards who stand in front of bars, pubs and clubs doors are an important element of urban night landscape. This agents are known as “patovicas” or “controladores” in the own jargon. They regulate and control the entrance, exit and permanence in different private spaces of public access.This article tackles the job skils inside the field of “Controlde admisión y permanencia” in the city of La Plata. We are looking to know and understand the daily logic of the patovica profession from the perspective of the actors themselves.
