Description
Summary:This paper provides a principal overview of the time domainmeasurement instrumentation and information about the implementation ofthe time domain option in the Agilent PNA microwave network analyzerE8364A. The paper also presents practical experiences with antennameasurements realized by sweep mode of a vector network analyzer withdata processing in a time domain. The new single antenna methods ofgain and antenna radiation patterns measurements are presented. Thesemirror methods with gating in a time domain are based on the reflectioncoefficient measurements realized in the frequency domain with timedomain data processing. These methods seem to be promising formeasurements of gain and radiation patterns of ultra-wideband linearlypolarized antennas. The paper compares the results of the new methodswith the results of standard measurements.
