Moreover, because of its ability to establish this with voice, it has surpassed “the literacy” prereq uisite in terms of its audience. Starting with its invention, different countries and forms of governments who have discovered that the radio can reach communities effectively, used it as a medium for news, entertainment, education or propaganda throughout its transformation as a mass media tool. It is observed that the Republican administration of Turkey has grasped the effective potential of radio at an early stage. Radio broadcasting, which started in 1927 through a government supported private enterprise and continues under the management of different government-affiliated institutions, has become an important tool in the establishment of the regime and in educating the nation.
