Description
Summary:This study aims to present and discuss the new volunteering in communication activities of NGOs in the Latin American context. This is an exploratory study that makes use of theoretical models of the new configurations of volunteer work and its interaction with the statement of NGOs. The research also used the case study on the new volunteering in functional communication activities of Opção Brasil in 2014, NGO integrated in Opción Latinoamérica (OLA). The results show that the spaces of participation in NGOs created and encouraged for the volunteer work in communication activities enhance either volunters as these organizations. The communication model found in Opção Brasil has heterogeneous characteristics as: motivations and interests of volunteer; resource limits and high volume of communicative actions of the organization; dependence of students and professionals voluntaries to fulfill their organizational mission.
