Summary: | This research had focused on glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforced concrete flat plate slabs with symmetrical openings. The results of ten interior slab-column connections were presented and discussed. The test parameters are reinforcement ratio, reinforcement type, and openings location. The specimens
had been tested under monotonic concentric loading up to failure. The result showed that increasing the reinforcement ratio resulted in higher punching shear-shear capacity, lower deflection, and lower reinforcement ratio. Existing of openings reduced the punching shear capacity, and increased of the deflection, for instance, when spaced of opening's location form column face up
to three times of effective depth, it will be issued to increase 25% of punching strength in slab.
