Description
Summary:Vertical duct ribbed in both sides with rectangular ribs was studied experimentally and numerically. The flow through the duct was mixture of water and air. The flow behavior of the duct was photographed and the results compared with the volume fraction images that were generated with Ansys fluent 15.0. The same CFD model that was compared with the experimental results was used with other ribs height to show the difference that made by the height of ribs. Three ratio of Rib height to the duct width was studied (0.083, 0.167, and 0.25). Keywords: Air, Computational fluid dynamics, Heat transfer, Ribs, Two phase, Vertical duct, Water
