Methods CiteSpace5.2.R2 was used to conduct co-occurrence analysis, cluster analysis and emergent word analysis using Chinese literature in the field of cancer screening published by China Knowledge Network, Wanfang and VIP Database from 1990 to 2018. Results Chinese literature published in the field of cancer screening in China has been increasing year by year. The academic leading role of the core authors group had not yet generated and the main academic groups could be divided into three categories. The basic knowledge structure was centered on the gynecological malignant tumors screening with the purpose of early diagnosis and treatment. It could be divided into 9 major research interests. The research frontier focused on the following aspect: cancer screening types spread to other domestic high-risk cancers, the update of screening methods and the emphasis on interdisciplinary related to cancer screening. Conclusion China has made some achievements in cancer screening research, mainly focusing on medical technology and related fields.
