Description
Summary:Object and purpose of research. This study discusses the waterjet blade section and is intended to improve cavitation performance of the waterjet propulsor.Materials and methods. The study is based on hydrodynamic calculations of wing profiles. Main results. Wing profile NACA-66 mod a = 08 has 4 times lower minimum pressure coefficient than the segmented profile.Conclusion. Quasi-acoustic model test data for the waterjet with the wing profile of blade section have shown zero edge cavitation on the working wheel, which is uncommon for pumpjets and has practical importance for waterjet application on full-scale ships.
