Description
Summary:Taking into account the risk of human exposition to pesticides by ingestion of contaminated water and food, this study presents a brief review about Brazilian studies regarding pesticides in water, in biological matrices, and in human intoxication cases. Brazil is the greatest consumer of pesticides among the developing countries, and the intensive use of these compounds in agriculture, among other applications, can result in changes to the environment, reflecting in the population's life. The problem of pesticide intensive use should be discussed between governmental institutions and general population in order to consider urgent procedures avoiding future damages.
