Description
Summary:In the evolution of theatrical art, an important role belongs to the ancient choir as an element of the structure of the dramatic discourse. Being a specific character in the pre‑theatre, — in the Dionysian rituals — the choir acquires various artistic functions in the ancient tragedy and comedy. It appreciates the character / protagonist, comments on what is happening on the stage, expresses the voice of the people, manifests itself as a special character in the dramatic action, and at the level of the structuring of the dramaturgic text contributes to the association / “blending” of the epic with the lyric and dramatic, especially in tragedy. The article deals with the issue of the metamorphosis of the chorus as an index of theatricality, revealing its forms, meanings and artistic functions in Drutas works. In order to highlight the specificity of the creative individuality of the film director A. Cozub, we realize a parallel of this type of character in the performances based on the dramaturgical texts of Ion Druţă and Dumitru Matcovschi.
