Summary:The paper seeks to examine the religious discourse from the perspective of Critical Discourse Analysis, to understand the role of language in the conduct of social life, emphasizing the character of the performativity of religious discourse and discursive authoritarianism that allows propagation of a discriminatory ideology regarding homosexuality and contributes to the maintenance of existing power relations in our society. For this, we examine the discursive and linguistic elements present in a worship of the church Assembleia de Deus.
