Summary: | This paper provides the first evaluation about the experience with Distance Education at Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados (UFGD) and Brazil Open University (UAB) in the first semester of 2012, within ‘Computer Sciences’ undergraduation course, more specially in the discipline of ‘English for Specific Purposes’ (ESP). The physical on-site presence as long as the virtual learning environment from Moodle platform allow a case study under the relevance of having some physical sessions among the supervisor, teachers and students of the course and the functionality of the virtual learning environment as well as the effectiveness of the teachinglearning processes. Therefore, this experience report expands important perspectives about the actions which can contribute to improve the strategies that are meant to be revised or enhanced by the techno-pedagogical team and also a consistent institutional planning.
