Avaliação silvicultural de Tectona grandis L.f., em cáceres MT, Brasil: resultados preliminares

The present paper reports a technical evaluation of a teak stand (Tectona grandis L. f.), sited in Cáceres, MT. A random-block experimental design was undertaken with a stand of teak trees with initial densities varying from 833 to 2.000 plants per hectare, planted in simple and double rows, and f...

A random-block experimental design was undertaken with a stand of teak trees with initial densities varying from 833 to 2.000 plants per hectare, planted in simple and double rows, and following eight spacing. Three repetitions were made. The data were collected at the age of 22 months, and it was calculated the survival, the diameter at breast height and the total height of the trees. A model was fitted for the estimate of the volume of the stem with bark. It was considered, for each spacing calculation, the medium diameter at breast height and also the averages of the total height, of the basal area, of the volume of the trunk with bark per tree and per area, and the form factor. The model with the best fitness for the estimation of the volume of the trunk with bark was the logarithmic. The medium diameter at breast height, the averages of the total height, the survival rates, the volume of the trunk with bark and the form factor did not differ considerably by spacing. The total height, the basal area and the volume of the trunk with bark per area were directly proportional to tree density.http://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=53416209
