Holistic ecocentrism, and above all the notion of « ecoumenic community » defined by Gérald Hess, offers an opportunity for political sociology to analyse interactions between humans and non-humans. A confrontation between this philosophical proposition and an empirical study allows emphasizing an euphemizing of interdependencies. This euphemizing is a straight consequence of a anthropocentric and technical policy framework. Holistic, sensitive and time interdependencies of political community between humans and non humans are reducing by public action. Once biodiversity crisis is admitted, the concept of « ecoumenic community » seems heuristic for an ecocentric political sociology.
