Summary:The reputation of journalists is seen as a line of research, that aims at analysing professional practices from the perspective of reputation. The framework within which this research falls, constitutes an area of convergence, between studies on the professionalism of the seventies and eighties, with their own analysis of reputation in the field of organizations. This, observed through the prism of an economic crisis that has produced not only a crisis in  prevailing professional values but also in the social recognition of information professionals.
