It will also address the issue of the formation of social and race identities. The methodology used will be the Critical Racial Theory, which uses narratives, counter narratives and autobiographies to analyze the lived experiences about race and racism. The article intends to answer the following question: the extent to which social and economic inequalities interfere in the formation of black identities? This begins by bringing IBGE (2019) statistics on poverty and violence to support the discussion of historically constructed racial discrimination. Rescues the foundations of literacy studies in Brazil, continues talking about Racial Literacy and concludes the section addressing Critical Racial Literacy, from the authors Rojo (2009 and 2012) Ferreira (2015). It discusses how social and race identities are formed and how this affects social coexistence, and briefly presents Critical Racial Theory, which contributes to the analysis of autobiographical narratives. Continuing to present the narratives divided into four reports, which follow a chronology, beginning in the author's childhood and ending in her adulthood, they corroborate the mentioned authors showing how the formation of black people's social and race identities reflects and acts on their consciences. The penultimate section presents the analysis of the reports, followed by the final considerations.http://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/travessias/article/view/23612letramento racial críticonarrativas autobiográficasidentidades de raça.
