Description
Summary:This article describes how the use of blogs to facilitate student research projects in a university art criticism class proved beneficial to both students and instructors. The results of surveys administered to students during the semester and at the conclusion of the course demonstrate positive learning outcomes as a result of modifications to an existing art criticism course to include personal blogs. The authors include the co-teachers of the course and a former student, reflecting on her experience several semesters after the conclusion of the course. Relative literature, course design and students’ opinions of blogging as a course requirement, as well as benefits and challenges encountered in the process are addressed.
