Summary:In recent years, with the improvement in quality of life, the incidence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been gradually increasing, and NAFLD has become a common liver disease with an incidence rate second only to viral hepatitis. Therefore, the number of patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) complicated by NAFLD has also been increasing. This article reviews the research advances in the role of hepatitis B virus in promoting NAFLD and the influence of NAFLD on the course of disease and the antiviral effect in CHB patients.
