Summary:Last twenty years witnissed many researches of the physics teaching practice, aimed at examining the students' misconceptions and the possibilities of surpassing this problem. The large number of these researches originates in the fact that misconcetions are the most important factor of poor academic achievement of students. It is worth noting that the majority of the researches deal with the conceptual changes aimed at eliminating the problem of misconceptions and improve learning. Conceptual change approach involves the application of various teaching strategies related to concepts, principles and phenomena in physics. The paper offers, after the explanation of the main features of the conceptual change approach, the review of some teaching strategies and methods, developed within this approach, which may be helpful for teaching physics.
