Summary:Cloacal anomalies frequently include uterovaginal malformations, and the reconstruction may require vaginal replacement, with a vascularized segment of bowel. We present a girl who needed this procedure. The option in her case was to use a segment of ileum, but intraoperatively, she was found to have a Meckel's diverticulum suitable for that purpose. This is the first report of such a technique. The details are described in this paper. The operation was successful, and her outcome was satisfactory. Two years after the intervention, the vagina is patent, and the urological and fecal results are fair as well.
