Description
Summary:Rainbow digital hologram is very potential 3D display media in the next future generation for electronics device. Rainbow hologram method is one of the method which can support this development. Since rainbow hologram records a large ammount of spatial and temporal frequency component from the object that represents as rainbow spectrum, huge information need to be decoded digitally. In this paper, we propose a method for compression method applied in rainbow digital hologram. The compression method is wavelet transform for the recording and reconstruction process that capable to compress an object and fringe pattern digitally. The compression is based on major spectral component on the recording process which are red, green, and blue. This method has benefit among other compression scheme that offers high resolution of the reconstructed image. From the simulation, compression using wavelet in the recording process can reduce the file size to be stored in computer significantly where the score is 73.9 %. The quality of reconstructed image does not degrade siginificant as well where the comparison for compression and uncompression show identical characteristics.
