Description
Summary:Introduction: Diabetes is a multifactorial autoimmune disease whose susceptibility is determined by chemical, genetic and environmental factors. Objective: Evaluate functional and biochemical parameters of inflammation after muscle injury in diabetic rats. Methods: Through a plantar flexion was performed controlled stretch the tibialis anterior muscle in groups les (n=5) and les+diab (n=5). The protein extravasation was determined by Evans Blue, cytokines TNF-a, IL- 1B, IL-6 and IL-10 by ELISA and functional evaluation by walking track analysis. Results: We observed an increase in protein extravasation in groups les and les+diab compared to the healthy group (p<0.01 and p<0.05). There was a significant increase of TNF-a, IL-10 and IL-6 groups les, les+diab and diab (p<0.001) and IL-1B les groups (p <0.05) les+diab and diab (p<0.01) compared to the healthy group. We observed an increase in the functional index les group (p<0.001) and les+diab (p<0.01) compared to the healthy group and the group diab. Conclusion: The controlled stretch injury in the tibial anterior muscle of rats, induce an immune response reduced in diabetic animals and a deficit in motor function.
