Description
Summary:Objective To investigate the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of cervical bronchogenic cysts by the report of 1 case. Methods A neck mass of a patient was diagnosed as bronchogenic cyst by histological examination. The clinical data were analyzed and literatures were reviewed. Results The patient received a cervial cyst resection and a bronchogenic cyst was identified by pathological examination. The patient had an uneventful recovery without recurrence after 1 year follow-up.Conclusion Cervical ectopic bronchogenic cyst is extremely rare, moreover it has no distinctive characteristics in clinical symptoms and image examinations, so that the diagnosis still depends on the pathology. The first choice of treatment is surgical resection, and the prognosis is effective and favorable.
