Summary: | Purpose. The article is devoted to modern correctional pedagogics the training of preschool children with delay of mental development in training in an educational institution. The subject of analysis are the features of the formation of reading skills in preschool children with delay of mental development. The author aims to uncover the methodology of developing reading skills in preschool children with delay of mental development. Task is the extension and deepening of scientific knowledge about the peculiarities of formation of reading skills in preschool children with delay of mental development through the experimental study and methodological support in this field of work.
Methodology. The basis of the research constitute the theoretical methods of analysis, synthesis and logical generalization and pedagogical experiment.
Results. The results are that the author conducts theoretical and experimental analysis of features of formation of reading skills in preschool children with delay of mental development and preconditions for their development, and presents guidelines for their formation.
Practical implications. The results of the study can be applied in the field of working with children with mental retardation in an educational institution.
