Toward a methodology for evaluating website of government environmental agencies in the northern border

<p>In the environmental field of the northern Mexican border make use of websites to</p><p>provide information and services to society in order to achieve a better interaction about the environmental work. In spite of that, and since there are various schemes and government programs that set objectives to be met by this online offer, little is known about the extent of achievement of these objectives. Therefore, this study tries to find out if these sites are fulfilling the objectives that motivate their creation and their setting online. From this initial assessment, it is confirmed that local government’s websites are likely to have a lower compliance of objectives. It was observed that the objective that is more often fulfilled on the three levels of government was offering visible and structured services, in a lesser extent to implement citizen participation.</p>
