Description
Summary:The Colombian Technical Rule (NTC) 4596 establishes the guidelines that architects and engineers should follow when designing school environments. This article analyses the guidelines described as per Item 7.2 of the Rule regarding visual comfort. The methodology compares hypothetical classrooms (following the directives as indicated by point 7.2) with the already constructed classrooms in educational facilities located in Medellín, Colombia. The results show the need to adjust and make clearer the parameters that have been established in the NTC 4595 in order to minimise the potential imprecise nature of their interpretation.
