Description
Summary:In our research we examined the relation between creative and analytical thinking. We also tried to determine the relation of both types of thinking with divided and sustained attention. Some authors believe that creative and analytical thinking are in contradiction with each other. There is also a question of connection of both types of thinking with attention. Analytical thinking is supposed to be connected with focused attention, while creative thinking is suppose to connect with divided attention. Our results showed there is no connection between creative and analytical thinking. This finding seems to support the assumption, that these two types of thinking are independent. Further we found no connection between focused attention and analytical thinking, neither the connection between creative thinking and divided attention. Nevertheless we need to mention, that the sample size in the study was very small, therefore the possibilities to draw firm conclusions are limited.
