Description
Summary:We performed retrospective cohort study to identify factors associated with bacterial complications of chickenpox in children. We included 128 children with chickenpo x who were hospitalized between 2000 and 2014. Binary logistic regression was used to reveal factors associated with bacterial complications. Male gender and age 3 to 6 years were positively associated with occurrence of invasive bacterial complications. We found association between atopic dermatitis and pyoderma (noinvasive bacterial complications of chickenpox). Prescribtion of acyclovir decreased the odds of invasive bacterial complications.
