Description
Summary:The breakdown experiments were conducted on the castor oil and Midel 7131 nano-liquids under microsecond pulse. The breakdown strength of the castor oil nano-liquid with 1% volume fraction was over 50% higher than its base liquid, while the breakdown strength of the Midel 7131 nano-liquid with 0.3% volume fraction was 10% higher than its base liquid. A high viscosity base liquid would help increase the optimal volume fraction of the nano-particles because the nano-particles in a high viscosity liquid are harder to polymerize. This study proposed new ideas for the mechanism of nano-modification and extended the scope of liquid nano-modification.
