Summary: | Archaeological Survey of India and State Archaeological Department of Tamil Nadu had conducted a number of field researches at Keeladi in Sivagangai district to find the presence of Sangam Age cultural similarities. The two institutes, which began to focus on that, have been carrying out excavations since 2014. More than 15000 artefacts were discovered through this. If they have become the talk of the world today, it is the result of 2600 years of cultural age. In addition, there is more architectural evidence found in the excavations below than the brick architectural evidence found so far in Tamil Nadu. Archaeological excavations have shown that urban civilization flourished here as it is habitation to ancient Tamils. In this excavation, brick structures, ring wells, roof tiles, terracotta pipes, dye tanks, iron, copperware, beads, earrings, circular sports chips, black and red potteries, symbols, and pottery with Tamil Brahmi (Tamil) engravings were found. Archaeological evidence suggests that the early Tamils of this period were well versed in literacy, agriculture, industry, architecture, and urban civilization. Since this culture is two thousand six hundred years old, the lower Tamil urban civilization can be considered as parallel to the Indus Valley Civilization. Images of the excavations are fixed for evidence. Furthermore, if many more excavations are carried out here to shed light on this cultural civilization, the many cultural pieces of evidence available in it will reinforce the above hypothesis.
