In the first part of this paper historical data and facts from the literature are presented, as well as informants’ accounts on the origin and migration of Gallipols, collected during field research in August 2016. The second part contains the analysis of the formation, modification, passing down, and interpretation of the traditions on community’s origin in the past and present.
