Summary:The article is devoted to proofs of God’s existence in philosophical and theologicaltexts, beginning with researching the origin of such proofs in Ancient philosophy andproceeding then with analyzing adaptations and further development of them inChristian theology of the II-XIV cc.The author’s focus is on the filing of the knowledgeconcerning the proofs of God’s existence. A detailed arrangement and comparativeanalysis of these proofs is presented. In the end of the article it is noted that the maintypes of such proofs were developed by Fathers of the Church on the basis of the ancientthought, acquiring then a well-shaped logical pattern thanks to the works of westernscholastic theologians. Further development of these proofs as well as critique of themare connected with modern and contemporary philosophy
