| Summary: | The constitution of the internal sac of
aedeagus (endophallus) Plagionotus sensu lato and close
genus is investigated. On the establishment of a constitution
male genital, is established, that Echinocerus Musant 1863
is an independent genus, instead of synonym Plagionotus
Mulsant, 1842. As Echinocerus is a younger homonym, for
him the substituting name - Paraplagionotus nom. n. is
offered. Series of species Plagionotus s. l., are discharged
in a separate genus Neoplagionotus gen. n. (N. bobelayei
(Brulle, 1832) comb.n., N. scalaris (Brulle, 1832) comb. n.,
N. siculus (Castelnau et Gory, 1855) comb. n., N. marcorum
(Lopez-Colon, 1997) comb. n.). The key for definition of
