Description
Summary:This article derives from a master’s thesis in Education, inspired by Cultural Studies in its encounter with Environmental Education. It is focused on how childhood narratives teach us ways of living and relating to the environments that surround us. In the article, we discuss how affective objects of childhood trigger stories. The research was conducted through interviews with subjects who, as children, lived in a coastal city of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Their speeches were recorded and turned into narratives, which sculpt environments at the very moment of their invention. Narratives spelled in written words and images, bringing to life the affective objects of childhood, telling a little about a time, a place.
