Therefore, the current study aimed to investigate the role of perception of God and meaning of life in the resilience of the elderly residing in nursing homes. The method of this research was descriptive correlational. The statistical population included the whole 650 aged women and men residing in nursing homes located in Rasht, Iran in 2017. Selected using cluster random sampling, participants were 225 aged people. Data were collected through Lawrence’ perception of God, Steger et al.’s meaning of life and Connor and Davidson’s resilience questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple linear regression model. Results indicated that there is a significant positive relationship between perception of God and meaning of life with resilience in the elderly. Moreover, results from the stepwise multiple linear regression shows that resilience in the elderly can be predicted through meaning of life and subscales of benevolence and providence. Regarding the determinants of resilience in this research, the elderly’s resilience can be increased through reinforcing perception of God, correcting its acceptance, designing and using suitable methods inspired by logo therapy.https://jap.razi.ac.ir/article_828_1a91530c80c5a10f52adf7fe6f2d1111.pdfperception of godmeaning of liferesilienceelderly
