Description
Summary:Urogenital myiasis, which is caused by the insect Psychoda albipennis, is rarely seen in humans. In this report, we describe urogenital myiasis caused by Psychoda albipennis in a 23-year-old man. Two Psychoda albipennis larvae were detected in the urine examination of the patient, who referred to our hospital claiming to have seen small, white, active particles like larva. The complaints of the patient disappeared after urinary system antiseptic treatment. This rarely seen case, which does not require specific treatment, is reported to call attention to urogenital myiasis.
