Description
Summary:In the present paper, some mathematic functions have been established concerning the optimum humidity for oats grown on a brown podzolic soil, fertilized or fertilized and limed. The experiments have been carried out in vegetation pots. The obtained results indicate the following: the maximum plant production appears at higher humidity in the soil taken from the B horizon than that taken from the A horizon. In both horizons, the peak of the plant production-humidity curves is shifted towards higher humidity the soil fertilized with NPK and limed than fertilized but not limed. In order to increase plant production on very humid and podzolized soils, the authors suggest an improved agrotechnique which comprises a better mixing of A and B horizons as well as the fertilization with NPK in association with lime.
